Since I ported the SMG models from Halo Online I've started thinking that we could do, so much more with it.
So, to give you all a brief background, Halo Online is a free multiplayer Halo game, I believe its running on a modded version of the Halo 3 engine and uses a wild mix of assets from all the games. It is like playing Halo 3 on a PC, with Halo 4 spartans and guns. I've known about it for a while but never really had any interest in getting into it do to other stuff.
However since we are approaching the launch of the server (launch date is set for the 12th of august) I felt we might do something to pass the time. Since Halo Online is completely free I was thinking it could be fun if we as a community came together to hold a little tournament in the classic halo red versus blue style (however at the end I was thinking the winning team goes into a free-for-all slayer match and the top 3 players get 3 secret prizes, as well as a prize for the winning team).
If you guys show an interest in this I'll set up a topic with install instructions and links to anything and everything you'll need as well as organize teams (cause no, I don't trust people to make their own teams).
If we do this I'll make it into a proper tournament ;)
Scratch not needing a VPN, we would need to make use of something like evolve or Hamachi in order to play together
Feel free to come with input and ideas in the comments below!
I should probably have clarified this, but the version of Halo: Online we would use is called "eldewrito" and is a user created mod, it is completely unrelated to the russian halo online game, but uses assets from it. It should not require a VPN as it initially seems be use the same kind of peer to peer server coding as Halo CE!
