Full Background: Neria is an ocean world positioned on the edge of Alliance controlled space. The planet is positioned in a perpendicular orbit around a Binary star system. It is one of 8 planets located in the system but is however the only one to sustain life. This is due to the planet being at the perfect distance from its twin stars to sustain water on its surface and an atmosphere. The planet being in a goldilocks zone. While Neria's surface is 99% covered in water the planet has a rich atmosphere. This is due to algae in the planets oceans. The algae releases 80% of the planets oxygen while the remaining 20% is given by ocean plants of Alien origin.
Neria's ocean's sustain a rich yet basic eco system. Its life all pretty basic but none the less existent. It's algae would appear to be of human origin. Most likely placed on the planet as a way to speed up its initial terraforming phase when the humans first arrived on the planet. Since then basic life forms have started to appear, sort of alien in appearance but most likely due to cross/genetic breeding of earth species. The colonists of the planet have set up floating cities. Not literally floating. More like rigs. Structures on stilts placed in the shallow area's of the planet. Under water mountains. Shallow seas. Those kind of areas. The biggest of which known as Miumo housing a total population of 10'000 colonists. Also included on the surface would be smaller outposts owned by the Alliance. These would be using modified Alliance hover tanks designed to stay in the air for longer to maintain a patrol.
Surface temperatures maintain a steady 30 degrees Celsius with ocean temperatures being on average around 18 degrees Celsius near the surface. The deepest point of the planets ocean is the Fallcliff trench. This Trench is located 9 miles below the surface, exceeding Terra's Mariana trench in depth. Down here temperatures are near to freezing. The water not freezing due to high volume of water and convection currents from the planets mantle. Starships are rare on Neria with only the richest families owning them. All starships on Neria are the old Endeavour class colony ships which brought the original population to Neria before being retrofitted for new jobs. Neria has no moons meaning that the cities are pretty safe from the sea. The atmosphere is relatively calm. Occasionally causing sea spouts (Tornadoes out to sea) and storms. Its inhabitants are provided safety while under the rule of the Alliance. The planet has never been threatened by war with the Regency although run ins with the Marauders have happened. The planet's years last for 682 days due to the 2 stars. The planets spin means that a day lasts 32 hours. Only 8 of these are night time.
Miumo city. Reasons it should be included: This planet being an ocean planet would provide for some interesting rp if it was ever included. Being an Alliance planet means that it could come under attack from forces of Marauders leading to a mission where the team would have to equip gear for underwater combat / travel. It would also create quite a bit of passive rp for my character should someone ask me where she's from.
Relation to you or your Character: Natalie Kayden was raised on Neria to her mother and father. Her family was well known, being the 8th richest family. She lived on the planet for 15 years, giving her a pretty descent swimming ability. At 15 she left the planet for a supposed 3 year mining trip in one of the old colony ships known as the Alder. Only her and her father went. During the trip an accident involving mining equipment left Natalie without legs from the knee down. Her father after seeking basic medical attention for her rushed her back to Neria. As they landed he took the now 16 year old out of the ship bringing her to a hospital. While in hospital 2 Alliance recruitment officers came in asking to speak with the girl. They offered her replacements for her legs of a military grade in return for her service in the Alliance. She agreed and began training, leaving the planet. She has not returned since.
