Character Bio: 2 paragraph minimum
Born April 4th, 2527 on the planet of Ariel, Sean had grown accustomed to being the runt of the pack. His entire life he had been the youngest of six brothers and two sisters, all of which were about five or so years his senior. His family had been relatively poor, the only reason they had had so many children was to be able to help support the family for generations to come. He had received a very weak formal education, as the small colony had very little inhabitants to begin with. He was put through standard public schooling through the day, and at night he was tasked with working to support the family. This practice had started at a very young age. The practice of working in the archaeological sights was common for nearly everyone on the colony, as it was the main reason for colonization. It had not been very long before Sean had to blend his work and his education together, balancing the two as his older brothers began to enlist in the UNSC. The family shrunk as Sean progressed through his childhood, finally leaving him and his father to support the family and their expenses. The labor of working in the mines grew on Sean, the discipline and harsh conditions that followed it sticking with him forever. Towards the later years of his teenage years, around 2541, the family was devastated. While his sisters had transferred off the colony to pursue careers on other colonies such as Tribute and Reach, three of his brothers had enlisted in the Marines, one in the Air Force, and two in the Navy. A formal letter to the family was sent home one day, a weekend. It unveiled the details that two of his Marine brothers and the one in the Air Force, stationed on the colony of Skopje, had been killed in the line of duty during a skirmish with insurgent forces. Fearing that such news would only cause Sean to enlist with the UNSC; they hid the information from him for his own protection. However, despite their efforts, Sean found out the news. He became devastated instantly. Not only for the fact that family members of his had perished in the line of battle, but that his parents decided to keep it from him. On his seventeenth birthday, Sean had had enough of his life in the mines, restlessly working to upkeep a life that he did not enjoy. He wanted something more, a brighter future, something that allowed him to transcend what he had become. He had gathered enough of his own money from working to afford transport. He finished whatever schooling that he had left to do without any interest, keeping a relative average GPA. On his eighteenth birthday, much to his parents demise, he decided to lean Ariel in search of a brighter future. Sean purchased a transport shuttle to the planet Reach.
Sean arrived in New Alexandria ready to serve. With the money in his pocket, he booked a rather low income level hotel for the time being to get himself settled. Wandering the streets for a few days he came across a recruitment depot which was conveniently located near a gym. The work Sean had put in in the mines prepared him with an entry level physical prowess for the Marines, however he wanted more. For about three weeks Sean attended the gym, using a variety of machines to strengthen himself to meet the Marine Corps PFT standards. Once done, he went to the recruitment depot and met with a recruiter. Sean wasn't the smartest but he had a good head on his shoulders and knew a fair bit regarding the ASVAB. Once formally enlisting he was shipped off to the nearest MEPs station and took his physical and written exams, passing both. His score for the ASVAB, in total, was an 82; pretty good for a miner. He was given a few days to gather his belongings before being sent off to basic training. The thirteen week program started off intense, the first phases horrible and tough. Nothing he could had done prepare him for the onslaught that he went through. Day after day of physical beat downs and mental slaughters turned him from a civilian to a warfighter, one of the best in the galaxy. The physical phases died down as he began to study his core tactics as an infantry rifleman. Surprisingly, this is where he excelled. Through constant studying both in the field and on the books, Sean became an excellent sharpshooter; something his drill instructors took note of. Advanced infantry tactics came easy to Sean, generally leading his platoon / squad with a sense of confidence as he grew. He stayed a rifleman upon graduation. It was the proudest moment he could have accomplished, finally becoming a Marine. Through the tactics learned in boot and the school of infantry, Sean was now officially a Devil Dog. He was granted his one week leave, boot leave, to contact his parents about his choice; who had been completely in the dark. It was not well received. Their entire family was now enlisted in the UNSC, putting their lives on the line for a war they did not want to fight. Sean wanted to, though. Only eighteen and he was now a world-class fighter.
After his leave was up, Sean was transferred to a Marine base on the planet Tribute with the 12th MEU, 2nd Marine Infantry Division, 4th Battalion, Delta Company, Third platoon. He didn't really fit in with those there. Most of them were preppy kids who were, despite being just as eager as him to fight, overconfident in their abilities. About a month passed of doing nothing, waiting deployments, training. He trained at the rifle range day in and day out and when he was not, Sean took to the books to study military history and tactics from old books. His NCOs liked his attitude. After another month of continuous training on his own accord, Sean was given a transfer note to a ship called the UNSC Safety in Silence with a brief explanation why. His formidable skills as a rifleman were required for the mission at hand, and Sean was more than happy to accept the delpoyment.
