Steam name:Doctor
Age: 7

Character Name: Edward Taylor
Character Age: 27
Character Corps: ODST
Character Rank: Lance Corporal
Planet of Origin: Luna

Personality Description: Edward tends to be stern in most situations, making sure the job gets done. His attitude towards his service has made him an effective combatant, never refusing any order given to him. Outside of combat, he is not usually an extrovert or an introvert, as he sits somewhere in between. He is often friendly to the people around him and gets along well, but he is very straightforward. Although he is not very talkative, he is able to hold a decent conversation. Finally, Edward can be a bit stubborn. It is difficult to change his beliefs once he has them set.

Physical Description: Edward is about the marine average when it comes to height and weight. Not too tall, not too short. He is probably a mesomorph when it comes to body type. Edward holds no significant scars, but received a tattoo of a skull and the letters "ODST" on his back. It was a celebratory gift after being accepting into the battalion. He keeps his hair relatively short, closely resembling the standard marine haircut.

Character Bio: In 2518, Edward Taylor was born on Luna in Crisium City under the care of his parents, Michael and Amber Taylor. As a child, his father was on active duty as a Lieutenant in the UNSC Navy, meaning that Edward would have to be raised by his mother. Edward spent most of his time doing whatever a regular kid would do. School, games, and friends. During his childhood, his mother worked as a part-time nurse at a military clinic. Other than his mother, Edward had the support from his older sister and brother, Jonathan and Vanessa. Their company eased some of the hardships he encountered as a child and they provided some guidance over him when their mother wasn't home.

As he grew older, Edward's father decided to join the Navy Reserve to spend more time with Edward. He was worried that he would neglect Edward throughout his life. As his mother worked, Edward's father taught him discipline and valuable lessons he could use later in life. Due to the support of his father, he became a smart and well-shaped kid when he was young. When Edward was in high school, he developed an interest in the military due to his family’s military history. His plan was to finish college, attend the Luna OCS Academy, then become an officer in the Navy. His family supported his choice, as his father was now retired and his brother was currently active in the Marines.

After Edward finished high school, he started working at his parent’s small business. He wanted to help out a bit as his sister and brother were off-world. During this time, Edward sent an application for the Crisium City Police Department. Soon, he was accepted into the police academy and began his training. After he completed the academy, he started his probationary period as a field training officer. After a year, Edward finished his probation and became a regular patrol officer. While Edward was still working with the police department, the war with the Covenant and the Insurrectionists was still waging. Edward felt that he had an obligation to serve in the UNSC to support Earth and her colonies. At the time, Edward’s brother, Jonathan, was serving in the Marine Corps as a Sergeant, further pushing Edward to enlist.

Throughout the years, the wars continued and nothing really changed back on Luna. Edward constantly thought about his brother, wondering if he was okay or not. He finally enrolled into a college, still keeping his job as an officer. His schedule was tight because of his job, making it hard for him to focus on school. During 2241, Edward was still enrolled in college when his family learned that Jonathan was killed during a conflict with insurrectionists. With some years left in college, Edward left Luna with the intent to enlist in the Marine Corps.

During basic training, Edward had a hard time trying to decide whether or not this was the right decision. His lack of confidence caused some problems, but he eventually worked through it. It later came to him that this was what he was going to do. He was able to complete the training and was assigned to his first company. Edward was not usually in contact with his family while he was active. It did not have that much of an effect on him, but he would still visit Crisium City if he had military leave.

Throughout his three years service as an infantryman, Edward showed constant perseverance and courage. This success granted him a small chance to become a part of the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. He would end up taking this chance despite the risks involved. This was not possible without some hardships that became obstacles for Edward to overcome. He still feels that his service was the best choice.

After Edward completed the screening process, he was immediately sent to an ODST training facility to begin. As Edward stepped off the Pelican, the hell to prepare the candidates started. The first three weeks was a series of rigorous physical tests, including fitness and training simulations. Edward felt that it had grown harder every day, with other candidates already dropping out. These tests were the first attempt to weed out candidates. The training was not easy, as Edward constantly tried to remove thoughts of quitting. It worked for awhile, but it eventually grew on him. The physical training was soon over, then it was on to squad tactics. Teamwork was a priority here, which Edward had no problem with. It still wasn't easy, as drill instructors would shoot candidates in the leg with tactical training rounds. These rounds would cause paralysis in the leg, making training simulations and the overall teamwork harder. During tactical training, candidates would now know how to operator and ODST's tool of entry, a SOEIV, or drop pod as some call it. The SOEIV would be used to deploy an ODST from high orbit. This entry has many risks involved, making the training extensive. Edward studied the SOEIV in the classroom and practiced by training in drop simulations. Real drop pods would have to be used later on, to test what he learned. After Edward successfully completed the squad training, he developed better skills when working with his team and became strong willed. Not many candidates quit during this part and it was on to the last part of training. The final part of tactical training, further developing candidates skills by putting what they learned to the test. This test also included the SOEIV drop by making the candidates operate a drop pod all the way to the ground. The operation was stressful as it was meant to be. The previous tests made Edward and the other candidates confident in the drop. No one refused or hesitated to enter the pod. All the final candidates managed to pass, including Edward. After the graduation, all the candidates were given some leave, then they would have to report to their first unit.
