Full Background: Planet P-4451, discovered by the 'Ptolemy' exploration vessel in the year 2104, is an arid, dry planet covered mostly by deserts. It was determined to be uninhabitable by oxygen-consuming organisms as the lack of greenery deprives P-4451 of oxygen production.
High-definition photo taken by the Ptolemy. However, deeper scans have revealed it to be chock-full of resources. Due to the chaotic conditions under the planet's crust, many types of ores were discovered in vast quantities, however, there was nothing valuable enough to warrant terraforming the planet in a time of peace.
Fast forward 171 years. War has broken out between the Alliance and the Regency. War machines need to be built. Fleets, weapons, armor, and the logistics required to support it all. All of a sudden, P-4451, the little brown rock, suddenly looks like a diamond in the rough.

Terraforming begins to make the atmosphere breathable to the oxygen-hungry. Mining facilities, refineries, factories, shipyards, and the like begin to sprout across the planet's surface like weeds. Factory workers flocked to the planet in the millions, expecting great opportunities, the nickname 'Leeds' was coined. It was not to be. Factory owners became greedy with their newfound wealth, paying off Alliance authorities to be able to treat the workers like insects. Most workers spent all they had to get to the planet, and were unable to return to their homeworlds.

Leeds represented the the plight of the Later-Worlders almost perfectly, and it's inhabitants were among the hardest to fight in the battle to obtain more representation for Later-Worlders. As corrupt officials have turned a blind eye to the conditions of the workers, not much ground has been gained. Only time will tell the fate of this twisted offspring of expansionism. Planet P-4451 'Leeds' has become home to many. The rich entrepreneur, the fat businessman, the hard worker, the oppressed, the penniless beggar, and other members of the menagerie that would develop in a relatively poor population, where almost 1% own 99% of the wealth. Some even say that Leeds is the headquarters of the independent merchants known as the Unidentifiables, however, this is nothing but speculation.
Reasons it should be included: I believe this this planet can serve as an excellent choice of home planet for someone who wants to include the difficulty of being a Later-Worlder in their character's backstory. One of the only chances the typical worker has of getting off-planet is joining the Alliance Military. Hell, I'm sure some sort of RP event could take place here, should something ever happen that the Buccaneers need to be called in.
Relation to you or your Character: For my current character, none. Whenever I decide to make an alternate character, this will be the homeworld I choose, if accepted.
